Petra Highlights

Petra visitor center, The Siq, The Treasury, Facades Streets, The Theater, The Royal Tombs, Petra Church, The City Centre, Roman Road and Petra Basin.

Day 1:

Amman Airport - Aqaba,

Meets and Pick up from Amman Queen Alia Airport, transfer to Aqaba to your hotel for overnight.

   

Day 2:

Aqaba leisure,

You are free to spend the day at Aqaba according to your own wishes.

   

Day 3:

Aqaba City tour - Wadi Rum,

In the morning, from Aqaba, start a guided city tour, visit Shareif Hussein House, Aqaba Crusader - Mamlok fortress, Aqaba Museum, the Great Arab Revolt Plaza, the Oldest Church in the Middle East, Ayla ruins.Have a short break with some juice.

 

Next will have a walk in the local souq, have an Arabic Mazza and Lunch. next will transfer you to Wadi Rum and drive through Rum Village by 4X4 to Lawrence Spring, Khazalai Canyon, ancient Inscriptions and the sand dunes, then drive to your Desert Camp for overnight.

   

Day 4:

Wadi Rum - Petra Tour,
Next morning transfer to Petra visiting the Treasury, the Nabatean Theater, the Royal tombs, the Roman Road, the Great Temple, the Temple of the Winged Lion and the basin, then back to the main gate,
to your hotel at Petra for overnight.

   

Day 5:

Litlle Petra - Shoubak - Dana - Dead Sea,

Pick up from your hotel and transfer to Little Petra, visit Beer Al Arayes, the Markets and Siq al Barid, Nabatean Quest houses and Temples,

 

Nexst transfer to Shoubak Castle, during the Crusades period it was known as Montreal, then drive to the village of Dana which offers an excellent view of the Dana Nature Reserve, and then drive to your hotel at the Dead Sea for overnight.

Day 6:

Dead Sea leisure,

You are free to spend the day at the Dead Sea according to your own wishes.

   

Day 7:

Dead Sea - Amman City tour,

Next morning will be visiting Amman the Jordan Capital you will be visiting Amman Citadel, Archeological and the Jordanian Museum of Popular Traditions, Folklore Museums,the Roman Theater, the old and modern Amman and its old markets, then transfer to your hotel at Amman for overnight.

   

Day 8:

Amman City tour - Desert Castles - Azraq Wetland - Amman,
Next morning will be visiting
the eastern desert of Jordan, today you shall see three of the best-preserved desert castles;

- Qasr Al-Harrana castle,

- Qusayr Amra is placed by Unesco on its World Heritage List.

- Qasr al-Azraq is built in black basalt and has been in continuous use since Roman times, during the Arab Revolt it functioned as the headquarters of Lawrence of Arabia.

The transfer back to your hotel at Amman for over night.

   

Day 9:

Amman - Jerash - Ajlun Castle - Umm Qais,

After breakfast, transfer to Jerash (Gerasa), once known as the land of Gilead, it was part of the Roman Decapolis and is sometimes referred to as the Pompei of the East, the best-preserved city of Roman times, and visit its theaters, temples, churches and colonnaded streets.

 

And then drive down to Rabad Castle (Ajloun castle) you will visit the Islamic military castle of Ajloun, and next transferred to Umm Qais which was built mainly out of black basalt, here you can enjoy the impressive view over Lake Tiberias and the Golan Heights, then drive back to Amman for overnight.

   

Day 10:

Amman - Al Salt - Iraq Al Amir,

Pick up from your hotel and transfer the City of Al-Salt, one of the earliest patriarchal figures in the Bible is Job, whose book is one of the world’s great masterpieces of religious literature.Also it houses the tomb/shrine of Job, the wealthy, righteous man from the Land of Uz, Al Salt is also the location of the tomb/shrine of the prophet Jethro, who was the father-in-law of Moses, it is also the site of the tombs of Jad and Asher, who were both sons of Jacob.

 

Next you will drive to Iraq Al Amir, a Hellenistic palace situated in a lush, secluded wadi 24km to the southwest of Amman, visit Qasr Al-Abd (Palace of the Slave), an impressive and unique Hellenistic monument, and then back to your hotel at Amman for overnight.

   

Day 11:

Amman - Amman Airport,

Pick up from your hotel and transfer to Amman Queen Alia Airport for departure.

Petra sites are spread at a wide area at different locations and altitudes, a good walking shose is necessary.

Walking Distance at Petra:

From the Visitor Center to the Basin is not less than 4.2 KM (2.6 Miles) and the same Distance walking back to the Main Gate.
