Itinerary

Day 1: Amman – Jerash – Amman,

After visiting the Roman Theatre and Amman Citadel in the morning, travel north to Jerash (Gerasa), frequently referred to as Gilead and the land of the biblical Gerasenes.
It was previously part of the Roman Decapolis and is today the best-preserved Roman city, named the “Pompei of the East.”
Visit its theatres, temples, churches, and colonnaded streets before returning to your Amman hotel for the evening and night.

 

Day 2: Madaba – Nebo –Kerak (King’s Way) – Dana

Make your way to Madaba, where you may view the famous mosaic map of Jerusalem and the Holy Land. Mount Nebo is your next stop, and like Moses, you will get a view of the Dead Sea and the Holy Land. If the sky is clear, you can see Jerusalem, Jericho, and Bethlehem.

The King’s Highway will be the route utilized from now on. The journey will take you into Jordan’s largest canyon, Wadi Mujib. In the afternoon, you’ll tour the massive fortress where Saladin and Richard Lionheart battled during the Crusades, followed by a quick lunch stop in Kerak before arriving in Dana for the night.

Day 3: Dana – Hiking Wadi Dana – Feynan Eco Lodge

In the morning, go to Dana town, which offers a spectacular view of the Dana Nature Reserve. Begin walking Wadi Dana (5 hours) from the guest house to Feynan Eco Lodge, where you will spend the night.

Day 4: Feynan – Wadi Ghweir – Wadi Namala – Petra

After breakfast, travel to Khirbet Feynan’s Roman Byzantine Churches to visit the historic copper mines (8500 BC – 4500 BC, Neolithic ages), then climb through Wadi Ghweir, Wadi Araba, Namala, and Little Petra to Wadi Musa for the night.

Day 5: Petra Monastery

Begin a guided tour of Petra at the main gate, then go through the Siq, a small and twisting fissure between the rocks, to the Treasury, the Nabatean Roman Theatre, the Roman Road (Cardo), the great temple, and the basin.
Next ascend the stairs to the Monastery to enjoy the magnificent view over Wadi Araba, followed by a trek to the Basin and back through the Siq to Wadi Musa to your accommodation.

Day 6: Snake Monument – Jabal Haroun

Early morning hike via Petra Siq to the Snake Monument, Jabal Haroun to Haroun’s tomb, and enjoy panoramic views of Petra and Wadi Araba before returning to Wadi Musa.

Day 7: Petra – Wadi Rum

You will traverse the famous Seven Pillars of Wisdom, as described by Lawrence of Arabia, and explore Wadi Rum by jeep on a full-day excursion to Lawrence Springs and the inscriptions carved centuries ago by the Thamudic and Nabatean people.
Khazali Canyon and Little Stone Bridge.
You may also climb one of the natural rock bridges and sand dunes before continuing to Umm Fruth Bridge, where you will see Lawrence of Arabia’s home, the Burdah rock bridge, and Barrah Canyon before returning to your desert tent for the night.

Day 8: Wadi Rum -Umm Ad Dami

In the morning, take a 4X4 to Umm Ad Dami, Wadi Rum’s highest peak (1830 m). You will ascend the mountain for three hours, a wonderful experience in which you may ponder the tranquilly on top of the sky-high, and then go to Aqaba on the Red Sea for the night.

Day 9: Aqaba Free Day

You will be free to spend the day anyway you like. We recommend diving, snorkelling, or just relaxing on one of the beautiful sandy beaches.
Alternatively, you might take a glass boat excursion to see the breathtaking coral reefs, followed by dinner and an overnight stay at an Aqaba hotel.

Day 10: Aqaba – Wadi Araba – Lot’s Cave – Wadi Mujib – Dead Sea

In the morning, go via Wadi Araba to Lot’s cave in the little town of Zoar (modern-day Safi), see Lot’s wife pillar, descend down Wadi Mujeb (lower portion), and spend the night in the Dead Sea, the lowest point on Earth.

Day 11: Dead Sea Free Day – Overnight Dead Sea

Free time for swimming, floats, and mud. Evening trip to Amman for the night.

Day 12: Dead Sea – Baptism site – Desert Castles – Amman

In the morning, you will visit the “Bethany beyond the Jordan” River, where John baptised Jesus Christ.
Then, you will drive to the eastern desert of Jordan, where you will see three well-preserved desert castles: Qasr Al-Harrana, Qusayr Amra, and Qasr Al-Azraq.
Qasr Al-Azraq was built in black basalt and has been in continuous use since Roman times. During the Arab Revolt, it served as the headquarters of Lawrence of Arabia.

Day 13: Hisban – Mukawir – Umm Ar-Rasas – Amman

You will begin your day by visiting Hisban, which is positioned on the edge of the highland plateau and overlooks the northern edge of the Dead Sea and the Lower Jordan Valley.

The Amorite King Sihon commanded the province of central Jordan from his capital at Heshbon (one of the Cities of the Plain), commonly associated with modern-day Hisban because to the similarity in names, then visit Mukawir, a castle located on a steep hill near the Dead Sea.After seeing Umm Ar-Rasas, return to Amman for the night.
