Itinerary
Day 1: Wadi Rum
Transfer to Wadi Rum, the land of Lawrence of Arabia; you will pass the famous Seven Pillars of Wisdom, as described by Lawrence of Arabia, and explore Wadi Rum by jeep, visiting Lawrence springs, Al Khazali canyon, and the inscriptions made by the Thamudic and Nabatean people centuries ago, and climbing one of the sand dunes, before driving to Petra for the night.
Day 2: Petra - Amman
Early in the morning, a guided excursion to Petra from the main entrance, sightseeing in Petra, and walking through the Siq begins. The Treasury, the Nabatean Theatre, the royal tombs, the great temple, and the Roman road (Cardo) to the basin are all accessible via this narrow and meandering cleft between the cliffs. Travel to Amman for the night after lunch.
Day 3: Amman – Jerash – Amman
Early in the morning, you will see the Amman Citadel, Archaeological Museum, and Jordanian Museum of Popular Traditions before driving north to Jerash (Gerasa), historically known as the country of Gilead, and known in the Bible as the territory of the Gerasenes. It was part of the Roman Decapolis and is frequently described to as the Pompeii of the East, and tour its theaters, temples, churches, and colonnaded streets before driving back to Amman to your hotel for the night.
Day 4: Amman – Madaba – Mount Nebo – Dead Sea – Aqaba
After breakfast, go to Madaba to witness the stunning mosaic map of Jerusalem and the Holy Land. Your next stop will be Mount Nebo, where you will be able to observe the Holy Land and the Dead Sea just as Prophet Moses. You can see Jerusalem, Jericho, and Bethlehem if the sky is clear. Afterwards drive to the Dead Sea, the lowest point on the planet, where you will have free time to swim, float, and explore the mud path before returning to Aqaba in the evening.
