Journey of Three Capitals: An Unforgettable Tour of Amman, Jerusalem, and Cairo

Join us for this transforming 14-day voyage through ancient history, spiritual worlds, and breathtaking landscapes. Itinerary

Day 1: Amman Arrival and Welcome to Jordan

  • Arrive in Amman, a city where history meets modernity.
  • Check into your hotel and unwind, preparing for an adventure of a lifetime.

Day 2: Bethany and Dead Sea Exploration

Drive to “Bethany beyond the Jordan” after breakfast, where John baptized Jesus Christ.
Continue on to the Dead Sea, the world’s lowest point, where you may swim, float, or have a mud bath. Return to Amman in the evening to check into your hotel, have supper and stay the night.

Day 3: Exploring Jerash and Umm Qais

Early in the morning, you will drive north to Jerash (Gerasa), once known as Gilead, and known in the Bible as the Gerasenes’ territory. It was part of the Roman Decapolis and is frequently described to as the Pompei of the East. You may explore the theatres, temples, churches, and colonnaded streets.
In the afternoon, you drive to Umm Qais, which was made primarily of black basalt, and enjoy a beautiful view of Lake Tiberias and the Golan Heights before returning to Amman.

Day 4: Crossing Borders to Nazareth

We will go to Nazareth and tour the Church of the Annunciation, St. Joseph’s Home, the Synagogue, and St. Mary’s Well. Spend the afternoon climbing Mount Tabor. On our way back to Tiberias, we stop in Cana of Galilee. Tiberias is where you’ll spend the night.

Day 5: Tiberias - Jerusalem

Tour the holy sites surrounding Lake Tiberias this morning, including the Mount of Beatitudes, Cafarnaoum, St. Peter’s Home, the Primacy of St. Peter, and Tabgha. Before boarding our bus for the travel along the Jordan Valley route to Jerusalem for the night, take a boat ride along the edge of Lake Tiberias.

Day 6: Jerusalem Tour

Visit Gethsemane, Mary’s Tomb, the Mount of Olives, and Pater Noster after breakfast. Explore Jerusalem’s Old City, including the Dome of the Rock and Al Aqsa Mosque, the Cardo and the Western Wall, before continuing on to St. Anne’s, Ecce Homo, the Via Dolorosa, and the Holy Sepulcher in the afternoon. In Jerusalem, spend the night.

Day 7: Jerusalem - Amman

Transfer to Amman via the Sheikh Hussein / Jordan River border crossing, where you will see the Citadel, the Archaeological and Jordanian Museum of Popular Traditions, Folklore Museums, the Roman Theatre, the old and modern Amman, the old market, and free time for shopping before driving to your hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 8: Amman – Madaba – Nebo – Kerak Castle – Petra

Transfer to Amman via the Jordan River border crossing, where you will see the Citadel, the Archaeological and Jordanian Museum of Popular Traditions, Folklore Museums, the Roman Theatre, the old and modern Amman, the old market, and free time for shopping before driving to your hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 9: Petra Tour

A spectacular day awaits as we explore the numerous sights of Petra, the city cut into the rose-red Mountains by the Nabateans and lost to civilization until rediscovered by the Swiss explorer Burkhardt.
Walk through the Siq, a tiny and twisting fissure between the cliffs, to reach the Treasury, Nabatean Theatre, royal tombs, Roman Road, great temple, temple of the Winged Lion, and basin, then travel to Wadi Rum for supper and an overnight stay at your desert Camp.

Day 10: Wadi Rum – Aqaba

Today we drive south to Wadi Rum, the country of Lawrence of Arabia, passing the famed Seven Pillars of Wisdom described by Lawrence of Arabia and exploring Wadi Rum by jeep for two hours with a Bedouin guide.
Visit Lawrence Springs, Al Khazali Canyon, and the inscriptions carved centuries ago by the Thamudic and Nabatean people, and climb one of the sand dunes before driving to Aqaba, Jordan’s sole seaside city, to your hotel for supper and stay.

Day 11: Taba – St. Catherine

Sail to Taba to explore the Monastery of Saint Catherine at the foot of Mount Sinai, which was founded between 548 and 565 and is the world’s oldest continuously inhabited Christian monastery, then to Cairo for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day12: Cairo Tour

After breakfast, you will begin your sightseeing with a visit to the Giza Pyramids. Cheops (Khufu) Pyramid, the biggest of the three, was erected in 2690 BC during the 3rd Dynasty and is one of the seven wonders of the ancient world. The Sphinx, cut from a single piece of stone, stands in front of the Pyramid of Chephren (Khafre).
It’s a lion with a Pharaoh’s head, maybe a depiction of Pharaoh Chephren (Khafre).
Enjoy a camel ride near the Pyramids (optional), then proceed to the Citadel of Salah El-Din, the Mohammed Ali Mosque, and the “mediaeval bazaars” of Khan-El-Khalili, where you may negotiate for jewellery and hand-tooled leather products, before returning to your accommodation.

Day13: The Fayoum Oasis

After breakfast, drive to El Fayoum Oasis, which is less than a hundred kilometers from Cairo and has a rich heritage of flora, fauna, and archaeology, where you can visit the Water Wheels and the Slieen Spring, before continuing to Egypt’s largest natural lake, Qarun Lake, and seeing the famous waterfalls in Wadi Rayan National Park.
Return to Cairo and get a room for the night.

Day14: Departure Cairo

Depart with cherished memories, cultural insights, and a sense of spiritual connection after reflecting on your transforming tour through Amman and Jerusalem.
