Day 1: Discovering the Scenic Route from Amman to Jerusalem
You will be picked up at your lodging in Amman and start your journey by traveling south through the Jordan Valley to the northern side of the Dead Sea. As you proceed westward, you will pass through the Judean desert and ascend the Judean highlands towards Jerusalem. Your first stop will be at the top of the Mount of Olives, where you will enjoy a breathtaking panoramic view of the old city, showcasing over 4000 years of historical significance. Descending from the Mount of Olives, you will visit Gethsemane, cross the Kidron Valley, and enter the walled city. Here, you will explore the iconic Wailing Wall and embark on a spiritual journey as you walk along the Via Dolorosa station by station towards Golgotha and the Holy Sepulcher. After this profound experience, you will stroll through the Roman Cardo and exit the town through Zion Gate on Mount Zion, where you will have the opportunity to witness the traditional ‘Room of the Last Supper’. Continuing your exploration, you will drive through the streets of New Jerusalem and pass by the Menorah in front of the Israeli parliament before arriving at your hotel for the night.
Day 2: A Journey through Caesarea, Haifa, Akko, and Rosh HaNikra
After breakfast, drive to Caesarea, Herod the Great’s masterwork and home to the Roman governors, including Pontius Pilate. Continue north along the Mediterranean coast to Haifa and Mt. Carmel for a picturesque view of the Bahai Gardens and the Rosh HaNikra grottoes, which are deep tunnels produced by wave action on soft chalk rock. Proceed north to Akko, which is most renowned for serving as a gateway port city to the Holy Land during the Crusader period, with its elaborate underground city of Crusader halls and shrines. Drive back to Jerusalem for a night.
