Evening: Karak Castle and Petra

Day 3: The Marvels of Petra
Morning: Petra
Explore the ancient city of Petra, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the New 7 Wonders of the World. Walk through the Siq, a narrow gorge that leads to the Treasury, and marvel at the intricate rock-cut architecture of the Nabatean city.
During the Exodus, Moses and the Israelites travelled through the Petra area of Edom; local belief holds that the spring at Wadi Musa (Valley of Moses), just outside Petra, is where Moses struck the rock and brought out water. According to the Bible, Moses was not allowed to enter the Holy Land and could only see it from Mount Nebo because he struck the rock with his rod to bring out water rather than spoke to it as God had directed. Aaron, Moses and Miriam’s brother, died in Jordan and was buried in Petra at Mount Hor, which is now known as Jabal Harun in Arabic. On the peak of the mountain, a Byzantine church and subsequently an Islamic shrine / tomb of Aaron were erected, which now draws visitors from all over the world. Aaron was the Bible’s first High Priest and is known for the magnificent blessing that God instructed him to bestow upon humanity.
Afternoon: Return to Amman (or Aqaba)
After exploring Petra, you can choose to return to Amman for your onward journey or continue to Aqaba for a beachside getaway. Whichever option you choose, your 3-day Kings Way Petra trip will be a memorable and enriching experience.
